Apprenticeships

 

Apprenticeships are generally of 4 years duration although some are for 3 years. Apprenticeships can be started at any age and do not require entry qualifications although completion of secondary education or a pre-apprenticeship course will be beneficial. You will be employed under relevant awards or enterprise agreements.

Traineeships

 

Traineships are entry-level opportunities designed to equip people with the skills needed for a particular vocation within a wide range of industries or employment situations. They are usually 1 to 2 years in duration and upon successful completion the trainee gains a nationally recognised qualification. In most cases you will be employed under the National Training Wage Award.

School Students

 

Australian School-based Apprenticeships (ASBAs) give students a head start in their careers and a practical 'hands on' learning experience. You are able to combine a national vocational education and training (VET) qualification whilst completing Secondary School, and you will also earn a wage for time spent in productive work.
